The organising committee for the 46th Guernsey International Chess Festival is pleased to announce that English GM Mark Hebden will be participating in this year’s event..
In addition to winning the Open Section of the Guernsey International Chess Festival in 2015 and 2019, Mark is the current English 50+ Champion, winning the Chessable English Seniors Championship in May 2022. He is also the winner of the 28th 4NCL Congress Open which was held in July 2022.
Other career highlights include winning the British Rapidplay Chess Championship in 1990, 1994, 2001, 2005, 2009, 2013 and 2015.
Mark is a also regular participant at the 4NCL, Britain’s premier chess league and in 2013, won the 4NCL Individual Championship, held at Daventry.
He also plays in local leagues for Syston Chess Club, and online on Internet Chess Club.
Mark will be returning for his 12th Guernsey International Chess Festival, his first visit being in 1984.
We look forward to welcoming him to the 46th Guernsey International Chess Festival in October.
