Important Information for Participants
If you are travelling to Guernsey to participate in the tournament, please be aware of a recent change in UK and Channel Islands entry requirements.
From 2026, many visitors from Europe and other countries are required to obtain an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) before travelling to Guernsey. This system has been introduced by the UK Government and applies to the Channel Islands, including Guernsey.
What is an ETA?
An ETA is a digital travel permission. It is not a visa, but a mandatory pre-travel authorisation for eligible travellers who do not otherwise need a visa for short stays.
Who needs an ETA?
Most participants travelling from EU countries (including the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, France, and others) will need an ETA before departure.
How to apply
You can apply online via the official UK Government website:
>>>> Apply for an ETA here <<<<
The application process is straightforward and usually takes only a few minutes. Approval is typically granted quickly, but we strongly recommend applying well in advance of your travel date.
Validity
- An ETA is usually valid for multiple visits over a period of up to 2 years, or until your passport expires (whichever comes first).
- It allows stays of up to 6 months per visit.
Passport requirement
Please note that, following Brexit, travellers from the EU must generally hold a valid passport to enter Guernsey. National ID cards are typically not accepted for stays involving overnight visits.
Important
It is the responsibility of each participant to ensure they meet all entry requirements. We recommend checking your travel documents well in advance to avoid any issues.
If you have any doubts, please consult the official guidance or contact your local authorities.
We look forward to welcoming you to Guernsey and wish you a pleasant journey!
